About ANTARES
Launched in 2005 by Royal Huisman in Vollenhove, ANTARES is a 40-metre aluminum ketch that showcases the Dutch yard's legendary build quality at every level. She has been held under single private ownership for eight years, during which time she completed extensive South Pacific passages without ever entering commercial service — a testament to her capability and the owner's commitment to maintenance.
Rhoades Young created the interior around a refined vintage-modern aesthetic, with period-inspired detailing refreshed during a thorough refit. The deckhouse is notable for its wraparound glazing, which can be lowered to merge indoor and outdoor living around the central cockpit. Four staterooms accommodate up to ten guests, supported by dedicated quarters for six crew. Under Bill Dixon's ketch rig she is both manageable and fast, with a 3,500-nautical-mile range that makes ocean crossings comfortable.
