Why the show matters
Its organisers describe it as the largest in-water boat show in the world. In 2025 it had more than 100,000 attendees, 1,000 exhibitors and more than 1,300 vessels on display, and the organisers put its economic impact at $1.79 billion (source: flibs.com).
A short history
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show began in 1959 as a display of 13 boats put on by a group of local manufacturers and dealers, organised by volunteers.
It marked its 60th anniversary in 2019, and 2026 is the 67th edition. The show is owned by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and produced by Informa Markets.
Today it spreads across marinas and the convention centre along the Fort Lauderdale waterfront, with a dedicated Superyacht Village at Pier Sixty-Six South.
